The DRGW website has some fantastic images. It's a very interesting road to model ! I love the bumble bee scheme F UNITS they look great . That pass through the gorge looks tight and risky with possible rock falls blocking the line and causing havoc ! It would be an excellent scene to model on a layout ! I noticed they had a fairly good assortment of interesting diesels on their roster including some great ALCOS . PA's were one engine I don't think the Rock ever had !!!!!!!!! The back ground scenery looks breath takingly fresh and clean like over here in AUS !!!!!!! I'll spend hours on the site myself until I've seen and read the lot !!!!!!!!!!!! Genesis DRGW F units are a work of art with their superb detail , and the smoothest running engines available ! You've pick a very interesting road to model Brian !

Just my luck though I picked one that will not exist any longer, thanks to Union Pacific apparently. I was looking at another Genesis F unit, part number ATHG2533, I may have to go for it. Brian Gansereit Kreig Haus Hobbies www.kreighaus.com

Hi Brian , Great pics !!!!!!!!!! Join the club , half the fun is keeping the memory of your chosen road alive ! Some of those DRGW engines were monsters , I love the pics of the PA's ! It'd be interesting to find out more about the pic of 3608 on the 10/24/1928 on what appears to be some sort of ramp going across some other tracks . I thought it was a turn table that tipped up from the engines weight but it could be an ash pit . It's hard to work out exactly what it is , or why it's tilted like it is ! The Bachmann EZI DCC system IS made by Lenz , the same as the Atlas Commander is and it would be a great system to start off with ! It's most certainly economical since it has everything matched , including a decoder equipped engine ! No hassles or problems !

Hey John,
Yeah after a week or two of catch up here at the store I'll be back to playing around with the layout. I got the Bachmann DCC system in and am going to buy it. It even comes with a locomotive so not a bad deal really.

Brian, I will be interested to know how well you like your DCC system. I'm for sure going to acquire one of those myself eventually, but first things first I have got to start on my layout. Ive now got all the track, engines and accessories I could need to get started. I have been waiting for fall to get here so I can get into the garage and get rid of junk I don't need. I then will be able to move things out of the area I have in mind to make room for a modest layout slightly larger than 4x8. Time is an issue but soon it will be cold enough outside to keep me inside and getting my layout off the ground. I found a good link for the Pennsylvania RR as you did for the Denver and Rio Grand if anyone is interested there are many more but this I feel is one of the better ones on the Pennsy with a lot of good links. www.chesco.com/~apu/prr/links.html

There are some good Pennsylvania RR videos out there too. Think I saw one on Model Railroader's site.
